Pre-loved School Uniform

Support with School Uniform

Pre-loved to Re-loved

At Chard Community Hub, we believe in helping our community thrive while caring for the environment. One of the ways we do this is through our Pre-loved Uniform initiative – a simple yet powerful way to make school life more affordable and sustainable for local families. Items are available on a swap or ‘pay as you can’ basis. If families need to take items for free, they can without judgement. There’s no expectation to donate.

Our Pre-loved Uniform allows parents and carers to donate gently used school uniforms and pick up items they need for free. It’s a fantastic way to:

  • Save money on school essentials.

  • Reduce waste by giving clothes a second life.

  • Support each other as a community.

How to Swap:

  1. Donate: Bring in clean, good-quality school uniforms your children no longer need.

  2. Browse & Collect: Choose items that fit your child, free of charge.

  3. Spread the Word: Tell friends and neighbours so more families can benefit.

We accept all types of school clothing, including trousers, skirts, shirts, jumpers, PE kits, and even shoes in good condition.

Why It Matters

Uniform costs can add up quickly, and we know how challenging that can be for families. By swapping instead of buying new, we’re not only easing financial pressure but also reducing textile waste – a win for your wallet and the planet.

Get Involved

Our Pre-loved Uniform ‘Shop’ is available year round, with pop up events during school holidays. Have a rummage and bring items to donate, or volunteer some time to help with the sorting and organising. Does your child’s school know about our scheme? Spread the word!

Together, we can make school uniforms affordable, sustainable, and accessible for everyone.
