Food Support

At Chard Community Hub, we believe that no one should go hungry. Our food support services are here to help local families and individuals access nutritious food while reducing waste and building a stronger community.

Community Fridge

Our Community Fridge is open to anyone facing food insecurity. It’s also a simple way to redistribute surplus food and save it from going to waste. Together, we’re tackling food waste and supporting those who need a little extra help.

RSPCA Pet Food Bank

We’re supported by RSPCA, so that families and visitors can continue to care for their pets when facing financial struggles. We can offer pet food to Community Fridge visitors, as well as referring to further support with vet bills.

Food Pantry

The Food Pantry offers affordable groceries for those on a tight budget. For a small weekly contribution, members can choose from a range of fresh produce, cupboard staples and household essentials. It’s a dignified way to make your money go further while staying healthy.

Mobile Pantry

Can’t get to us? We’ll come to you! Our Mobile Pantry service brings essential food items to outlying areas around Chard and Crewkerne, ensuring that everyone in our community has access to support. This service is especially helpful for those with limited transport or mobility.

Why It Matters:
These services not only provide food but also reduce the long-term effects of poverty and social exclusion. By working together, we can make sure everyone in Chard feels supported and included.
