Meet the Directors

Chair
My connection with Chard Community Hub grew from a long career in education and a strong belief that communities thrive when people feel supported and included. After 25 years as a primary school teacher, 10 of those years as an Assistant Head in a special educational needs school, I saw first-hand how vital early help, practical support and safe spaces are for families.
When I stepped away from teaching, I knew I still wanted to make a meaningful contribution locally. Helping to establish Chard Community Hub felt like a natural next step, a way to use my experience, energy and passion to strengthen the community I care deeply about and to help create opportunities for others.

Vice Chair
My journey with Chard Community Hub began through my role as Business Manager at Holyrood Academy, where I was involved in the community arm of the Cradle to Career programme. That connection introduced me to the incredible work CCH does to support local people. Living in the community myself, I was inspired by their commitment and impact—and I knew I wanted to play a bigger part. Becoming more involved felt like a natural step to help strengthen the place we all call home.

Sam Davison
Director
In 2022, I just happened to walk through the door of the brand new Chard Community Hub in it’s first week, to find that it perfectly aligned with principles of community for Holyrood Community School and myself, and we have worked in partnership ever since.
As an English teacher at Holyrood Academy for 23 years, I have a strong connection with its young people and the challenges they face. Chard is a great town with lots of generous people who are keen to help others. As part of Chard Community Hub I have been able to join this amazing community.

Tessa Goodridge-Reynolds
Director
Having joined the Hub team in 2022, I am now the Director for Safeguarding, bringing a background in youth work and supporting vulnerable families.
Having lived in Chard all my life, I am deeply passionate about our community and ensuring it is a safe, supportive place for everyone. My role focuses on protecting those who may be at risk and making sure individuals and families are signposted to the right support at the right time.
As a mother to a young person with additional needs, I understand the importance of strong, trusted networks and early help, and I am committed to working collaboratively to ensure people feel heard, supported, and empowered.

Director
As we came out of COVID, it was clear that there was a widespread need for extra support services in Chard. It was also beautifully clear that we had an amazing volunteer resource to help do this and that a new organisation was needed to help coordinate this offering.
I joined the Hub at its inception to do what I could to help get the ball rolling and, although I no longer live in Chard, it's a special place for me. I'm hugely proud of what the Hub has achieved and continues to strive for and hope that my arms-length input can remain useful.
